2017 winner in Premier’s Sustainability Awards
Kingfield Galvanizing was delighted to win at the 2017 Premier’s Sustainability Awards for our sustainable and highly automated hot dip galvanizing plant. The $20 million facility has the lowest emissions of any HDG plant in the southern hemisphere.
Automated processes, enclosed zones and recycling initiatives were designed to reduce waste, minimise emissions and achieve cost efficiencies at our facility in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Sustainability Victoria’s interim Chief Executive, Stephanie Ziersch, said “Each year, the Premier’s Sustainability Awards continue to discover Victoria’s best and most inspiring Victorian individuals, organisations and businesses which are developing and implementing new sustainable practices.”
This recognition supports our aim to change the perception of hot dip galvanizing plants as harmful to the environment, to an HDG industry that supports sustainability.
